A Beautiful Day

May 6th, 2007

Service today was absolutely amazing!  It was sweet to remember and repent with all of my fellow believer peeps.  And truly how great is our God?!!?  He constantly pursues and we constantly run.  He lavishes out grace when we remain all about ourselves.  Can you even begin to imagine what God goes through with us?

Praise God that the blood of the lamb is on my doorpost and spiritual death evades me.  I’m alive!  I’m alive!  I’m alive!  Can you believe it?  God’s wrath is dodged by me and the blow lands on His own son.   In awe again!

Come awake
From sleep, arise
You were dead
You’ve come alive
Wake up wake up
Open your eyes
Climb from your grave
Into the light
Bring us back to life

Hills and Humidity

May 5th, 2007

I have began a half marathon training regiment.  I know.  Why?  I have realized that both Kyle Goen and Jason Stewart weight less than me.  So this morning I ran 4 miles.  However, running four miles at the Y and running four miles on Old Nashville Hwy are completely different.  It had to be at least ten times harder.  I am definitely not yet a runner.

Props to all real runners out there.  Continue to boycott sissy running at the Y.  You know where you can find me.

Small Group Oh Yeah!!

May 1st, 2007

Last Sunday, we had an incredible small group.  The dissection of God’s word always brings life to a group.  I love that community is enhanced by fighting with scripture.

“If God’s word brings a spark of life to the individual, it can set a community of believers ablaze with truth.” This is a quote from my wifes latest article.  There is nothing that sets us on fire for God more than running after Him together.

Christianity was never meant to be done alone.  If you are not in a small group you are missing out.  Also, if you are not pushing your small group to dive into the deep things of scripture then you are missing out.  Dare to come along side someone and seek God together.  Do this and watch your heart be set ablaze.
